A military veteran and Republican member of Congress said it is time President Donald Trump stopped talking about the late Sen. John McCain.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, tweeted this Thursday afternoon:

"There is just no reason to be talking about Senator McCain after he has passed. He is not your political enemy Mr. President."

The feud between Trump and McCain began during the 2016 campaign when Trump questioned McCain's status as a war hero. In 2017, McCain cast the deciding vote that ended the GOP's effort to repeal Obamacare.

Trump has taken plenty of shots at McCain since, including last weekend and earlier this week.

McCain died last August after a battle with brain cancer.
