Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and actor/author D.L. Hughley got into a heated debate about racism and policing Wednesday night.

During his appearance on "The Kelly File," Hughley essentially accused Fox News Channel of being racist.

"It is my belief no matter what happens, no matter what we see, the cops are given a presumption of innocence," Hughley said.

Mediaite captured video of the segment.

Kelly and Hughley then began a quick back-and-forth about recent police shootings that have killed black men.

Kelly brought up the 2014 shooting in Ferguson, Mo., which resulted in the death of Michael Brown — who, according to the results of an investigation, attempted to get ahold of officer Darren Wilson's gun before Wilson shot and killed him.

"No one has proven that," Hughley said.

Said Kelly, "That's what Eric Holder's DOJ concluded."

"And Eric Holder's DOJ concluded that department was so rife with corruption," Hughley countered.

Kelly called Hughley's comment "a dodge. I already conceded that, D.L. We're talking about Michael Brown and the lie of hands up, don't shoot."

"I don't dodge at all. I'm here at Fox News," he said.

Said Kelly, "Then let's stay on it. Let's stay on Michael Brown."

After more talking over each other, Hughley eventually said, "The only place racism doesn't exist is Fox News and the police department. That's absolutely true."

Kelly called the remark "insulting. You just insulted millions of people watching this channel."

The heated debate continued from there, but it ended abruptly when Hughley took another shot at Fox News.

"It's very dangerous when you get to the point where you paint an entire group with the same brush based on the bad actions of a few," Kelly said.

Hughley replied, "That is amazing to hear on this network. It really is. It really is. Amazing to hear on this network."

Kelly then ended the segment.
