The recent report in the New York Times on cyber attacks on Iran ’s nuclear program appears to have exposed a groundbreaking U.S. national security initiative developed at great expense to the American taxpayer. The revelation of the sensitive information is likely to increase the threat to the United States. Although the Obama administration and its political allies in Congress adamantly dismiss claims that White House officials leaked this information for political gain, the fact that anonymous senior White House officials were cited in the story seems to put the lie to this argument and is driving Republican calls for an independent investigation.
