U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Tuesday unveiled images of the first border wall prototype, a 30-foot concrete structure.

The prototype, being built in San Diego, is one of eight from six different companies that will be considered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the umbrella agency to CBP.

DHS doled out $2.4 billion to the companies for the prototypes — $300 million for each — which is separate from the $1.6 billion funding approve by the House in June, the Washington Examiner reported.

The rest of the prototypes are expected to start in the fall, with non-concrete prototypes finished years before the concrete versions.

All are expected to be between 18 feet and 30 feet tall, the Examiner reported.
