Two thieves recently returned a package they had stolen after learning it was meant for a sick 5-year-old boy. Not only did the thieves return the package, they brought it back with an apology letter!

The culprits targeted the house of Sergio Moreira, whose company refurbishes and customizes memorabilia. A package containing a WWE (wrestling) championship belt was on his porch in Washington's Pierce County when it was stolen, and the theft was captured on video by his doorbell cam.

Moreira went on local TV and revealed that the stolen package had been headed to an autistic boy with a brain tumor, USA Today reported. Timothy "Timmy" Vick Jr. was scheduled to undergo brain surgery when the package was stolen.

While Moreira reached out to TV for assistance, the Sheriff's deputies in Pierce County took to Facebook to share video footage of the two women stealing the package.

The story eventually reached the two thieves, who returned the package to Moreira in person last Wednesday. Moreira happened to be sitting on his front porch when they drove up to his house.

"When I recognized them and they got out of the car, I looked in the car, the rest of the car, to see if anyone else was with them," he told USA Today. "Yeah, I didn't know what their intentions were. If they were driving up to confront me for putting them on the news or who knows?"

The two women apologized to him and admitted they were homeless and suffering from drug addiction, which prompted them to steal the package.

"It was beyond anything I'd hoped for," he said. "I really just hoped for their faces to have been shown locally all over so someone would maybe turn them in or find them. I never expected them to drive the belts back here and personally hand them over."
