CNN host Reza Aslan apologized on Sunday for a derogatory tweet he directed at President Donald Trump over the president's reaction to the terror attack on Saturday in London, Mediaite reported.
Aslan tweeted, "I should not have used a profanity to describe the President when responding to his shocking reaction to the #LondonAttacks."
In a statement released on Twitter, the Iranian-American religious studies expert who hosts a show on CNN, explained "I lost my cool" and that using profanity was "not like me." In the tweet, which Aslan has since removed from Twitter, he called the president a "piece of sh—" and said he was an "embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency."
Aslan received harsh criticism following his original tweet criticizing Trump, the article said.
