CNN: It's 'Nonsense' to Claim Network Staged News Report of Muslims

CNN is calling it "nonsense" the network staged a news report of demonstrators in an effort to make Muslims appear sympathetic, the Washington Examiner reported Monday.

A video was uploaded to YouTube Sunday with the title "CNN staging the narrative before making report, they are truly Fake News!" It showed the minutes before CNN correspondent Becky Anderson began her reporting after Saturday's terrorist attacks in London.

The video shows several protesters who were holding signs in support of the terror victims being told where to congregate in an area that had been cordoned off by police.

What appeared to be stage crew motioning to the people where to stand to be in the camera's view, Anderson can be heard describing it as a "wonderful scene" as she began her reporting.

British conservative news personality Katie Hopkins then tweeted the news report was anything but impromptu, saying it was scripting a narrative, right before your eyes.

"This story is nonsense," CNN said in a statement. "The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so."

ISIS has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks that left at least seven killed and nearly 50 injured, with 18 remaining in critical condition.
