As Democrats are calling for a release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report, FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed he has not read the report.
"I have not," Wray told Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla., during the House Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the 2020 FBI budget request.
Rep. Crist had asked the director if he "had an occasion to read the Mueller report" after clarifying the FBI is part of the Justice Department.
The question was asked very quickly at the start of Crist's questioning and the Florida Democrat moved on to ask about Wray's plans for a new FBI office building.
A number of Wray's FBI agents were a part of Mueller's investigative team that concluded there is no evidence of a Trump campaign effort to conspire with Russians to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
Also, as summarized by Attorney General William Barr, the head of the DOJ, there was insufficient evidence to pursue an obstruction of justice charge against President Trump.
