Caitlyn Jenner gave a cryptic response when questioned at a convention of the College Republican National Committee about last week's shooting in Virginia of GOP lawmakers and congressional staffers, saying, "Liberals can't even shoot straight," The Huffington Post reported Sunday.
Jenner, a supporter of President Donald Trump, was the featured speaker at the Friday event, and also called the incident "an absolute shame."
"First of all, nobody deserves what happened out there," Jenner said. "There are crazy people in the world... We have to minimize that type of stuff."
"As far as the people that were injured, it's an absolute shame,'' she continued. "You just want them to recover. Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot. Liberals can't even shoot straight."
Four were injured in the shooting at a baseball field in Alexandria, Va., on Wednesday, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who remains in the hospital following several surgeries. Suspect James Hodgkinson, an activist who supported Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, was shot and killed by police.
The comments caused a stir on Twitter, with many criticizing the remarks by Jenner, a transsexual.
