W, Laura Bush Return to White House for Portrait Hanging

Wednesday, 30 May 2012 08:31 PM

George W. Bush is returning to the White House, reports Yahoo's 'The Ticket."

The former president and ex-first lady Laura Bush are due in Washington on Thursday for the unveiling of their official portraits, and are expected to be welcomed by President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.

The Bushes and the Obamas have met before in the White House: in November of 2008 when the Obamas toured their new home and later when  former Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter gathered with President Bush and Obama in the Oval Office in 2009.

The Bushes and Obamas also marked a moment of silence together during the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attackes at the National September 11 Memorial in New York.
