The privately funded U.S. border wall led by triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage declared victory over a government bureaucracy that had reportedly ordered a gate to remain open.

"BREAKING: Our gate is officially closed as an agreement has been reached with the IBWC!" We Build the Wall tweeted Tuesday night. "The border wall we built is now sealing off this section, once again, that needed to be closed. #CloseTheGate #GateClosed #WeBuildTheWall #MAGA"

The International Boundary and Water Commission, a group overseeing U.S. and Mexico waterways, had ordered the gate to remain open for access to permit public access to Monument One, one of the obelisks marking the border from El Paso, Texas, to Tijuana, Mexico, according to reports.

Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., tweeted the IBWC move was "an insult to our sovereignty":

"The U.S has over 1,000,000 army soldiers. We spend the most on defense in the world. We have over 5,800 tanks. But a bureaucratic commission vandalizes a private border fence to open the border to criminals? This is an insult to our sovereignty.

After originally tweeting instructions for callers to pepper the commission with phone calls, Kolfage, who started the private border wall project with around $23 million in GoFundMe donations, tweeted thanks to the IWBC:

"Our border wall & gate are secure again and we still have not had a single breach. I want to thank the IBWC for acting swiftly and we look forward to working with you on our future projects!"

Kolfage added, after the reported permit processing battle in a series of them, the IBWC is going to lock the gate nightly and "will only be opening the gate at intermittent times during the day as necessary going forward."

The American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico pressed the IBWC to open the gate to access.
