A request for a "Blue Lives Matter" cake for a woman who wanted to celebrate her dad’s retirement from being a police officer was reportedly refused by three workers at a Georgia Wal-Mart.

According to Fox News Columnist Todd Starnes, the woman was told by the Wal-Mart workers that the cake was racist and nobody felt comfortable decorating it. She wanted the cake for her father’s retirement party after 25 years on the force. The woman, who didn’t want Starnes to mention her name, said she would find another bakery.

A Wal-Mart manager later gave her a gift card and made the cake free of charge, stating that Wal-Mart supports law enforcement. He had to make the cake himself because his decorators continued to refuse to make it, however, Starnes said. A picture showed a hand-decorated cake with badly printed block letters spelling out "Blue Lives Matter."

Starnes called for the decorators to be fired, but there are no reports that anything has happened to them so far. "'I work in retail,' the officer's daughter told me," Starnes stated in his Fox News Column. "'If I didn’t want to deal with a customer — and said "No" — I would get fired.'"

Starnes ended his column by saying, "Just because Wal-Mart is the home of low prices, doesn’t mean they have to hire a bunch of low class, anti-cop bigots."

Friend of the family Taylor Wilkes said she will not shop at Wal-Mart even though they tried to make the situation right.

"If you ask me, I think he just did that because, thanks to you all, this got so much attention, and he didn’t want it to go farther than it did," Wilkes said, according to WGCL-TV.

She also described the meeting as "scripted and insincere," according to the station.
