Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg has released a television ad harshly criticizing President Donald Trump ahead of his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
The ad, which will air on MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, and YouTube platforms just hours before the president delivers his speech at the U.S. Capitol, states: "The Real State of the Union. A nation divided by an angry, out-of-control president. A White House beset by lies, chaos, and corruption, an administration that has failed the American people."
A narrator says in the ad, "It doesn't have to be this way. Next year we can have a leader who'll bring people together, solves problems, and gets results. Mike Bloomberg will get it done."
The ad comes just days after Bloomberg and Trump both aired television advertisements during the Super Bowl.
The former New York City mayor only threw his hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination in November, but he spent more than $130 million on television advertisements and more than $8 million on digital ads — all of his own money — in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Bloomberg, who plans to compete in the Super Tuesday primaries on March 3, has focused his ads and attacks mainly on Trump.
