The Black Conservative Foundation announced Thursday it's launching a bus tour across swing states to drum up support among Black voters for former President Donald Trump, The Hill reports.
The "Black Voters for Trump" bus tour kicks off Friday and will travel through the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and North Carolina.
Diante Johnson, the foundation's president, said, "We are thrilled to mobilize in these vital swing states and bring our America First message directly to the communities."
He added, "The enthusiasm and energy among our supporters are at an all-time high, and we're looking forward to connecting with fellow Americans in meaningful ways."
Vice President Kamala Harris has a wide lead over Trump among Black voters with just two months to go before Election Day. However, some polls have shown Trump gaining ground, and campaign insiders have indicated they're aiming for 20% of Black voter support this year.
In 2020, Trump got 12% of the Black vote, up from 8% in 2016. Trump is seeking to appeal in particular to Black men who've become disillusioned with the Democratic Party.
The tour aims to highlight the importance of voter registration and turnout as it stops at local businesses and community centers along the way. According to the BCF website, each stop on the bus tour will also feature a "surprise mystery guest."
The BCF has supported Trump since he announced two years ago that he was running again in 2024. In February, Trump spoke the BCF's annual gala.
