Fox News host Bill O'Reilly told a Muslim spokesman Tuesday that moderate members of the faith should have a "Million Muslim March" on Washington to publicly reject radicals calling for jihad.
Harris Zafar, national spokesperson for Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, said on Tuesday's
"O'Reilly Factor" that people who want to know about Islam should get a copy of the Quran and feel free to ask questions after they have read it.
O'Reilly called Zafar a "solid American" who has been outspoken against radicalism and said his method was "a good way to handle it," but added that there are so many radical Muslims in the world that "it becomes difficult for unsophisticated thinkers to separate the good from the bad."
O'Reilly opened the segment with video of a small group of protestors outside Zafar's own mosque shouting that Muslims are "a pawn of the devil," and that "God hates Muslims."
O'Reilly compared the problem to Nazi Germany. Not all Germans were Nazis, he said, "but we had to kill them all and bomb the hell out of their cities to break that movement."
All Muslims should not be killed, O'Reilly said, "because it's not a central problem. However, I have got to tell you there is a lot of people that are getting a little fed up with this, and I think they are getting fed up because they don't see a mobilization of the good Muslims."
O'Reilly said he is thankful for statements from moderate Muslims, but added, "I would tell you and every other Muslim leader you need a Million Muslim March in Washington with national coverage to speak out against ISIS [the Islamic State] so the whole world can see it."
