Bill O’Reilly’s newest book has soared straight to the top of the New York Times best-sellers list, making it his 15th instant No 1 hit.

"Killing The SS: The Hunt for the Worst War Criminals in History" is the latest in O'Reilly's "Killing" series, co-written by Martin Dugard. It was published October 9.

The book recounts the saga of tracking down Nazi criminals after World War II.

More than 19 million "Killing" books have now been sold since "Killing Lincoln" debuted in 2011.

Various formats of the "Killing" books have spent a combined total of more than 350 weeks on best seller lists, making it the most successful nonfiction series in history.

O'Reilly is a regular guest on Newsmax TV. He spoke about his latest book during an appearance last week and compared the evil shown by the Nazis to the evil that he sees all around today's society.

"I'm talking about people walking into schools with guns and killing students. How often have we seen that? I'm talking about the city of Chicago, where tens of thousands of citizens have been shot by drug gangs. And the authorities in Chicago and Illinois can't stop it," O'Reilly told Newsmax TV. "I'm talking about clerics molesting children. This is just evil."
