President Donald Trump revived the nickname “Crazy Bernie” as he welcomed Sen. Bernie Sanders into the 2020 race for president.
The president made his comments in a Wednesday morning tweet.
He wrote: “Crazy Bernie has just entered the race. I wish him well!”
Sanders, I-Vt., had announced on Tuesday he was making another bid for the White House. The Washington Post noted that he had called Trump “the most dangerous president in modern American history.”
And Trump had said: “Personally, I think he missed his time.”
Trump has regularly used nicknames for his opponents, including calling Hillary Clinton “Crooked Hillary.”
And he referred to Sanders as “Crazy Bernie” during the 2016 presidential race.
