Former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum has been named a Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics, the Tallahassee Democrat reports.

According to the Institute of Politics, Visiting Fellows "engage the Harvard community with a condensed visit schedule during the course of the semester," and Resident Fellows live on campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where they "mentor undergraduate students, hold weekly office hours and lead an eight-week, not-for-credit study group on a particular subject according to their experience, interests, and expertise."

Gillum, who unsuccessfully ran for governor of Florida as a Democrat, will join Reps. Barbara Comstock, R-Va., and Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla., Victory Fund president and CEO Aisha Moodie-Mills, CNN legal analyst Michael Zeldin, and Global Women's Issues' U.S. Ambassador-at-Large Catherine Russell, who have all been named Resident Fellows for Spring 2019. His fellow former mayors Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans and Michael Nutter of Philadelphia will return to Harvard as Visiting Fellows.

"We are eager to bring together this extraordinary group of fellows who will provide students with the opportunity to learn from their experiences running for office, building grassroots advocacy campaigns, and making public policy," Fellows program director Mark Gearan said.
