Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg was granted immunity by federal prosecutors in exchange for information he provided about hush money payments by Michael Cohen, The Wall Street Journal is reporting.
Weisselberg has been a decades-long executive to President Donald Trump and to whom Trump handed over control - along with Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump - of his financial assets and business interests after being elected in November 2016, WSJ reports.
Weisselberg was called to testify before a grand jury earlier this year as part of the investigation into Cohen, WSJ reports.
The report comes in the aftermath of Cohen's plea deal earlier this week. Trump's former personal attorney pleaded guilty to eight charges and implicated the president in efforts to silence porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal ahead of the 2016 election.
