Rep. Al Green said he will continue his efforts to have President Donald Trump impeached, despite Attorney General William Barr’s assertion that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report found no evidence that the president’s campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 election, The Hill reported on Sunday.

“MuellersReport did NOT investigate bigotry emanating from the Presidency harming our country,” the Texas Democrat wrote in a tweet. “The findings do NOT negate the President’s bigotry. As long as bigotry influences the President’s policies, I will continue to seek his impeachment."

Green, who has been the leading advocate for impeaching Trump in Congress, has maintained that the president is unfit for office based on a long list of statements and policy decisions that he claims worsen racial divisions nationwide.

His drive for impeachment has been opposed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has long said that any such talk needs to be built on bipartisan support.

Green’s proposed articles of impeachment in the last Congress, which garnered the support of more than 60 Democrats, argued that Trump is "unfit to defend the ideals that have made America great," citing the president’s ban on immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries, his banning transgender people from serving in the military and his ambiguous response to the white supremacist marches in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He said he intends to force his impeachment articles to the House floor for a vote this year as well.

Billionaire Tom Steyer, who has been promoting impeachment across the country, said Congress should not be satisfied with "a 4-page summary written by a Trump appointee," according to The Hill. "Mueller concluded that he could not exonerate Trump, and the American people deserve to know why."
