Director Adam McKay, whose new movie is a biopic on former Vice President Dick Cheney, said in an interview released Monday that he would take President Donald Trump over former President George W. Bush “any day of the week.”

"I would choose Trump over Bush and Cheney," McKay, who won the 2016 Academy Award for best adapted screenplay, told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview. His newest picture, “Vice,” stars Christian Bale as Cheney and focuses on his rise to political prominence and his vice presidency.
"Dick Cheney was the safe-cracker, the professional you brought in who knew all the ins and outs of our government," he added. "He was the ultimate gamesman."

"With Trump, the front door to the White House is wide open," McKay said. "There's deer and dogs and hyenas running around. And this guy is like an orangutan just throwing shit around."

“The Big Short” director added that Trump “has no belief system,” and said that Cheney “would have invaded Iran” if he “had stayed in office.”

McKay said, "I would take the hyenas, the random wild animals running through the White House over Cheney any day of the week.”

He also described former President Bill Clinton as “one of the worst presidents in the modern age,” saying that “his presidency has aged so poorly: the deregulating of the banks. His personal life [related to] the #MeToo movement. Like, shame on all of us."

He added, “they let that guy off the hook. I think he killed the Democratic Party. … I would say [former Florida Gov.] Jeb [Bush] over Bill Clinton."
