Rep. Ralph Abraham, R-La., who is vying to be Louisiana’s governor, says in a campaign ad "there are only two genders."

His remarks were reported by The Washington Free Beacon on Thursday.

In a 30-second ad, Abraham said: “And here’s the truth:  Life begins at conception, government is too big, our taxes are too high, and our car insurance is too expensive, President (Donald) Trump is doing a great job, facts matter more than feelings, the Second Amendment is self-explanatory and, as a doctor, I can assure you there are only two genders.”

He ends the ad saying: “And that’s the truth.”

Louisiana’s Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, had issued an executive order in 2016 that required businesses to accommodate employees who choose to identify as a different gender than the one they were born with, the Free Beacon noted. However, the Louisiana Supreme Court ultimately ruled the order unconstitutional.
