A Texas mattress store is facing outrage after posting a commercial that jokes about the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

In the commercial, a woman says that the store, Miracle Mattress in San Antonio, is honoring the anniversary of 9/11 by hosting a "Twin Towers" sale. Then two men fall and knock over two towers made of mattresses.

The commercial's host ends the ad by saying, "We'll never forget."

CNN reports the owner of the store said the ad was in poor taste, "crude and the employees behind it will be held responsible."

Chris Cuomo, host of CNN's "New Day" program said the line "Never forget" is a meaningful reference to those whose loved ones were victims in the attacks.

"That 'Never Forget' thing matters. It doesn't just matter to the families that were lost and to the people that were there," Cuomo said. "But so much of what we're dealing with now in terms of our fears about the world stem from the reality of what could happen.

"When you get casual about that, you're not just being insensitive. On a level, you're being inhuman."

Co-host Alisyn Camerota said, "When you remember back 15 years ago, the idea — if you could have thought there would ever be a funny commercial, poking fun, about 9/11, it would be inconceivable. It's still pretty inconceivable."

"Sometimes, time heals too much," Cuomo added.

Jenee Lewis at the city's ABC TV affiliate KSAT said, "It really upset me. I felt like people really need to know that this is not OK."

Lewis, who is from a military family, wondered how the video made it to air. "At what point does someone not say this is a good idea?"
