Are Democrats the Country's UnAmerican Patriots?

We normally have thought of American patriotism as a mutually shared American endowment, something viscerally unifying us all, when it comes to what is best for America... no, not Americans, but America, politics and posturing aside. Of course, Americans will benefit from America having been the object of greater concern.

However, and of late, we have seen and continue seeing behavior from the Democrats ... and their media myrmidons ... a type of behavior that far belies what should be tolerated from true patriots.

Lower taxes and less regulation reside at the core of the Trump Doctrine, if you will. It is the strategy that has driven the best economic recovery known to this country's history. And, yet, ever since Trump's inauguration, the Democrats have rallied around a sworn objective, both strategic and tactical, to defeat and remove Donald Trump from office, replacing him with someone who was co-pilot to the administration that was the worst economic recovery ever.

Sunday night, the Senate held a vote on the new stimulus Legislation, designed to buoy companies and sustain workers and their families against the dire and pernicious economic impact of COVID-19.

The bill had been drafted by a bipartisan group of committees who sought to get it passed, by the end of the vote and headed to the president's desk for his signature.

That was not to be. Not as long as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, had anything to say about it. Under orders from these two malevolent demigods, the Senate Democrats all voted "No" on the bill, thus, denying most Americans the help needed to avoid utter financial calamity and rescue the economy from its current freefall.

One of Schumer's comments was that the bill provided a bailout for large corporations.

In efforts to avoid unleashing a few flaming ad hominem attacks, let me simply say that Mr. Schumer lacks what most of us would consider sufficient knowledge of the issues at hand. From all appearances, he’s largely led a life of politics, versus working in the private sector.

One cannot help but wonder just how much sense it takes to understand that large corporations are not inanimate entities that operate and exit independent of human involvement. Get a clue, Senator Schumer! All companies are people, and they hire and pay other people.

Those people who are wondering from where their next dollar might come happen to be employees or lay off victims of companies, of all sizes, that have been devastated by this COVID-19 crisis, the very same people whom this stimulus is designed and purposed to help. But you, in your inimitably blunted partisan gamesmanship, saw fit to "shoot out the ambulance tires," simply because you didn't like that the ambulance is owned by a large hospital.

And, Sen. Schumer will claim to be a patriot, despite his callous disregard for other Americans.

Now, for Madam Speaker .. .let me stop here.
