Opposition Media Drafts Another Crazy Into the Right-Wing
A photo of 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin Namkai Meche who was fatally stabbed last week is seen an impromptu memorial at the Hollywood Transit Center on June 2, 2017 in Portland, Oregon. The center was the site where last week Meche and two other men were stabbed, two fatally, after they stood up for two women who were being harassed on a MAX train. (Natalie Behring/Getty Images)

In the wake of the Portland, Oregon, hate stabbing, the Opposition Media started another round of Pin-the-Crazy-on-the-Conservatives. The stabber was quickly labeled a "white supremacist" and media pontificators just assumed he was a Trump follower under the sway of our malign president.

Reuters: "Friday's stabbing attack came as some religious rights groups warn of a rising tide of anti-Islamic sentiment in the United States, blaming President Donald Trump for divisive anti-Muslim rhetoric."

ABC went to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has gotten rich by blaming conservatives for all varieties of bigotry both real and imagined: "Local reporters in Portland as well as the Southern Poverty Law Center have found a Facebook page they believe belongs to [the stabber] which features anti-Muslim and pro-Nazi comments as well as praise for Timothy McVeigh, who was convicted of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, one of the deadliest terror attacks in U.S. history."

And Newsweek quoted the unindicted co-conspirator CAIR (Council on American–Islamic Relations): "President Trump must speak out personally against the rising tide of Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry and racism in our nation that he has provoked through his numerous statements, policies and appointments that have negatively impacted minority communities."

Particularly noteworthy in the CAIR statement was the absence of gratitude for the two kafirs that died defending two Muslim women they didn’t know from Adam, or Eve for that matter. I would have thought it would be difficult to portray two women who were yelled at as the primary victims, when their defenders were dead from extensive stab wounds, but I’m not a member of a perpetual, permanently aggrieved grievance group like CAIR.

Here’s what the Opposition Media leaves out in their rush to Trump Tower. The stabber did attend an "alt-right" free speech rally and the alt-right organizers ejected him from the proceedings when he began ranting about blacks. What’s more, rather than being a Trump supporter, the same Facebook page the OpMedia cherry picks for evidence that supports their blame Trump premise, contains an admission the stabber hates both Hillary and Trump and voted for Bernie Sanders.

I think it’s obvious this guy was crazy long before Trump rode the down escalator to announce his run for president.

But none of that matters when the goal of the Opposition Media is to bring down the Trump presidency by hook or crook or imaginary association.
