In 1992, during Bill Clinton’s first campaign for president, he liked to promise voters that if  elected, “you get two for the price of one,” as if doubling down on ethically–challenged, congenital liars in the White House would be a good thing for the country.

Now Hillary is offering voters a recycled version of Bill’s promise. Call it: "Vote one, get one slightly used."

She’s going to put Bill in charge of “job creation.” The post will create at least one job, Bill’s, and taxpayers will probably be on the hook for an additional host of hangers–on and coat–holders who will be passed off as “experts” and “policy analysts.”

I have a sneaking suspicion that regardless of what the total employment head count is, two facts will be quickly evident. One, most if not all of the “job creators” will have never created a single job themselves — assuming they ever worked in the private sector — and two, all female hires will be approved by someone other than Bill.

Politico quotes Hillary explaining her reasoning, “I've told my husband he's got to come out of retirement and be in charge of this, because you know, he's got more ideas a minute than anybody I know." This description does not engender confidence, particularly when one recalls how Calvin Coolidge described another fountain of ideas, Herbert Hoover: “That man has offered me unsolicited advice for six years, all of it bad!”

Possibly contemplating idle hands, the associated problems and her marriage, Hillary continued, “Gotta put people back to work and make it happen. So we're going to give it all we've got, absolute full-in 100 percent effort because I worry we won't recognize our country if we don't do this.”

Then in another example of going too far, Hillary continued expound on her job vision, but she was evidently off script. She has about the same ease and facility with small talk that Richard Nixon did, so it was no surprise that in talking about her job promotion to WSAZ she “added that she would like to create a new job in her administration called a 'trade prosecutor' to help bring back and maintain jobs in the U.S.”

“Trade prosecutor” there’s an encouraging morale–boosting term, that gives you an idea of Hillary’s punitive frame of mind. Trump talks about putting a tariff on imported Chinese goods, while Hillary implies she may be putting a price on businessmen’s heads.
