Since test scores show many government schools are failing at education, teachers and educrats are now trying indoctrination instead.

Fox News found an Oregon High School where the teacher in a literature composition class at Aloha High had students take a leftist–inspired “White Privilege Survey.”

The students were instructed to respond to statements with “often true” for them, “sometimes true” and “never true.” I don’t know if the survey was reprinted from a Black Lives Matter workbook, but statements included, “I can be in the company of people of my race most of the time,” “I can be pretty sure that my neighbors in such a location will be neutral or pleasant to me,” and “I am never asked to speak for all the people in my racial group.”

One parent was not happy and was not afraid to go public, “With the amount of money we pay for schools, they should be educating, not indoctrinating our students about the latest political fad or political agenda a teacher wants to get across,” Jason Schmidt said.

The educrats at headquarters were ready with a blizzard of buzzwords to defend the commissar, I mean teacher. “The survey is just one activity that engages students in exploring this area,” school district spokeswoman Maureen Wheeler spun.

She told Fox “the class was meant for students to explore social issues, specifically in relation to race, class and sexuality, with the aim of having students ‘gain empathy, understanding and to build bridges.”

Which just goes to show you. I thought a “literature composition class” would involve writing and not the exploration of cultural Marxism.

Washington state schools are also looking to train social justice warriors and there one can’t start early enough. KING-TV found that teachers at John Muir Elementary intend to wear Black Lives Matter T-shirts to school. “Teacher Jennifer Whitney came up with the idea to make T-shirts that read, “Black Lives Matter: We Stand Together” with the school’s name, John Muir Elementary, on the bottom.”

Whitney, who evidently isn’t a grammar teacher, explains it’s vital to wear the shirts because, “It is part of the oppression, the systemic oppression that continues on.”

Teachers there are so committed to the fight for racial justice they waited until someone could be convinced to donate money for the shirts, rather than spend their own.

Once again the paper-pushers at headquarters are backing the teachers.

A spokesperson for Seattle Public Schools said, “We are united in our collective commitment to eliminating opportunity gaps.”

My advice to parents who want their kids educated and not sent to re-education camps, is to either home-school your children or send them to private school. And make sure to vote against every school bond issue until the education establishment comes to its senses.
