Who Is Tracking the COVID Data on Deaths?

On July 22, a few hours after my article published with the spectacular news that America’s COVID deaths plunged 87% between January and May 2021, I spotted another article that “40% of this week’s new coronavirus cases came from the states of Florida, Texas and Missouri.”

This seemingly disproportionate claim was propagated by Jeff Zients, the White House’s COVID coordinator, who also asserted that 20% of these new cases were from Florida.

Since the aforemtnioned article provided no information about which states reported the most COVID deaths between July 16 and 22, and since the three states Zients singled out have Republican governors, I went to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “COVID Tracker” website for this crucial data.

For July 21, the CDC reports 407 deaths, which was the highest daily death toll, since the 499 recorded on June 7, 2021.

But I quickly discovered that three Republican-governed states accounted for a highly-suspicious 157, or 39%, of the 407 deaths nationwide on July 21. Florida suffered 86 fatalities; South Carolina, 38; and Texas, 33.

By contrast, six Democratic-governed, mega-states totaled only 33, or 8%, of these also highly-suspicious 407 COVID deaths. Illinois had 9; Pennsylvania, 8; New York, 7; New Jersey, 5; Michigan, 4; and California, 0.

However, as of July 26, the CDC’s unaudited “Data Tracker” show these six Democratic states account for 219,000, or 36%, of America’s inflated 609,000 COVID deaths.

There are other egregious anomalies in the CDC “Data Tracker’s” most recent daily reports of COVID deaths by state and nationwide.

First, the COVID data website of the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) reports 38,670 cumulative deaths, including 78 total deaths during the week of July 16 through 22.

These are eight fewer deaths than the 86 fatalities that CDC’s “Data Tracker” claims occurred in the Sunshine State on July 21 alone.

Furthermore, the CDC reports 358 COVID deaths in Florida for the week of July 16 through 22: from 38,356 to 38,714. Or a mind-boggling 280 more fatalities than the official total of 76 on the FDOH website.

Additionally, the CDC is tendentiously reporting that, of the 413 American COVID deaths on July 22, Florida suffered 148, or 36%.

But lo and behold, the CDC’s total deaths for Florida on July 23 are 38,670, or 44 fewer than the 38,714 on July 22.

And on July 23, 24, 25 and 26, the CDC has recorded these daily death counts in the Sunshine State: 0; 25; 25; 28.

Thus, the CDC is preposterously claiming that in the four days between July 23 and 26, Florida averaged 20 deaths per day.

But for July 21 and 22, Florida COVID deaths are 117 per day.

In addition to Florida’s highly-suspicious daily death tolls since July 16, the CDC’s “Data Tracker” reports South Carolina suffered only 5 deaths between July 14 and July 20, from 9,865 to 9,870.

But then the toll skyrocketed by 38 deaths, to 9,908, on the infamous July 21, the CDC’s “Spurious Day of COVID Deaths.”

Then, between July 22 and 26, the CDC is reporting 15 total deaths in South Carolina, or 4 per day.

Thirdly, the CDC “Data Tracker” reports 33 new deaths in Texas on July 21. But from July 18 through July 20, the federal health agency reports 11, 1 and 24 deaths, or 12 per day.

Then, between July 22 and 24, Texas averaged 40 deaths per day.

But for July 25 and 26, the CDC is reporting 12 deaths per day.

Finally, despite the recent recrudescence of COVID hysterics among many Americans, which are triggered by the egregious incompetence of the CDC, of President Biden and his COVID Taskforce, of other leading Democrats, and of many gullible journalists, deaths have been sharply declining monthly in 2021.

According to the CDC’s authoritative “Provisional Death Counts,” they are: January, 105,000; February, 47,000; March, 23,000; April, 18,000; and May, 14,000.

The incomplete death toll for June 2021 is, 7,404, as of July 27. I predict June's total will be 8,300 when fully tallied in early August.

Thus, between January and June, the COVID death tolls will have fallen a spectacular 92%.

Moreover, despite the current undeniable fudging of state and total death counts, in the CDC’s “Data Tracker,” July’s total, when fully tallied by the end of August, will not be significantly different than June’s.

But it is imperative that the departments of health, of the 27 states with Republican governors, closely monitor the highly-anomalous death counts disseminated, on the "Data Tracker," by the hapless CDC.
