A group of Republican legislators in the New York State Assembly, which is composed of 105 Democrats and 43 Republicans, announced on March 8 that they are introducing an impeachment resolution against the serially incompetent Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Their two charges against Gov. Cuomo are the sexual harassment of six women, most of whom were state employees. And the cover-up of the deaths of thousands of elderly New Yorkers, who were residents of nursing homes or assisted-living facilities, and who died from COVID-19.
A notorious directive on March 25, 2020, from Gov. Cuomo and the Director of Public Health Dr. Howard Zucker, compelled these senior-living facilities to admit infectious residents discharged from hospitals.
While for many months the New York State Department of Health had reported only 4,000 deaths among residents of senior homes, the actual fatality total has soared to 15,000.
Four other “high crimes and misdemeanors,” to quote the impeachment requirement from the U.S. Constitution, should be added by Republicans legislators to their removal resolution against Gov. Cuomo.
First, deaths from all causes in New York State skyrocketed to 201,000 in 2020, from 157,000 in 2019, an increase of 44,000 fatalities, or 28%.
Andrew “Angel of Death” Cuomo has the highest percentage increase among America’s four most-populous states, with these 44,000 additional deaths last year accounting for 9% of the nation’s increase of 506,000 deaths between 2019 and 2020.
America suffered 2,855,00 deaths in 2019, and 3,361,000 last year, or an 18% increase.
California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newson is Cuomo’s “Angel of Death Doppelganger” on the other coast, and he is responsible for a 50,000 increase, or 19%, in fatalities from all causes: from 270,000 in 2019 to 320,000 in 2020.
But California, with 39 million residents, is twice the size, of New York, with 19 million people.
Deaths from all causes in Texas increased from 204,000 in 2019 to 253,000 in 2020, an increase in 49,000 fatalities, or 25%. Texas’ 29 million residents are 53% more than N.Y. State’s 19 million.
Florida, with 22 million residents, saw deaths from all causes grow from 207,000 in 2019 to 243,000 in 2020, or 17%.
The second bill of impeachment against Gov, Cuomo should be that he wrecked the state’s economy, whose GDP in 2019 totaled $1.7 trillion.
Only the U.S., China, Japan, Germany, California, India, U.K., France, Italy, Texas and Brazil had a larger economy, until autocratic Andrew “Angel of Destruction” Cuomo destroyed it last year.
New York State’s Democratic Comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli, reported in Oct. 2020 that New York ranked second nationally among the 50 states in jobs lost, with 1,258,000 total losses, or 13% of the state’s jobs.
Furthermore, Comptroller DiNapoli reported that the state’s GDP plunged 36% in the second quarter of 2020, 5% worse than the national drop of 31%.
In December 2020, New York State’s unemployment rate was 8.7%, which ranked 48th among the 50 states, when the national average was 6.7%.
California ranked 49th, with a 9.3% rate, and Gov. Newsom is facing a justifiable recall vote later this year.
The third additional article of impeachment against Gov. Cuomo should be his disastrous failure, between mid-December 2020 and mid-February, in not prioritizing the state’s highest-risk senior citizens for inoculation with the COVID-19 vaccines.
In Nov. 2020, New York State suffered 14,000 deaths from all causes, but in Jan. 2021, there were 20,000 fatalities, or a mindboggling 43% increase.
California’s deaths between Nov. 2020 and Jan. 2021, skyrocketed from 26,000 to 44,000, or 77%.
During the same three months, Florida’s deaths from all causes went from 19,000 to 25,000, or a 32% increase.
Texas had a 22% increase, from 23,000 in Nov. 2020 to 28,000 in Jan. 2021.
The fourth article of impeachment against Gov. Cuomo is the massive departure of 126,000 residents, to New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and other states, between July 2019 and July 2020. This was the largest outflow among the 50 states.
During the last 11 months, I wrote a series of Newsmax articles documenting how Gov. Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio were egregiously mishandling the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, and “fudging” the state’s and city’s COVID-19 death tolls.
My article on June 9, 2020, “Mario Cuomo & Son Inc.: Failed New York Governorship,” concluded with these two paragraphs:
Rudy Giuliani, in an interview with the New York Post on June 6, revealed that he had spoken with the governor, and urged him to ‘remove’ Mayor de Blasio.
In reality, both the governor and mayor need to go, and sooner rather than later. Otherwise, NYC will experience in the third decade of the 21st century, another ‘déjà vu’ massive exodus, as in the 1970’s, of hundreds of thousands of residents.
Nine months later, belatedly, Gov. Cuomo’s catastrophic 10-year tenure is finally finishing.
And Mayor de Blasio must also be ushered out office, if the nation’s largest city is going to begin the uphill climb to recapture its former greatness.
He and de Blasio need to go, sooner rather than later.
