It is well-established in psychology that people who purposely hurt others loathe themselves. In the past few months, angry Democrats have attacked notable Republicans in public venues, just for being Republicans.

An irate mob accosted Pam Bondi, attorney general of Florida, at a Tampa, Florida, movie theater, professing to be “outraged” about her stances on healthcare and immigration.

Another mob of thugs from the Democratic Socialists of America screamed “shame” at Kirstjen Nielsen, secretary of homeland security, while she was dining at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C. They were feigning anger about immigration problems at the Mexican border and scolding her for having the audacity to eat at a Mexican restaurant.

Note: When Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a democratic socialist against ICE and borders, beat Representative Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary for New York's 14th Congressional district, DNC Chairman Tom Perez called her "the future of our party."

Let that sink in: Anarchy and socialism are the future of the Democratic Party.

The owner of the Red Hen Restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, famously evicted White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family from the establishment, simply because she works for President Trump. After they retreated to a restaurant across the street, the Red Hen owner followed and harassed them there.

Maxine Waters, a Democrat from California, loved it: “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that [Trump’s] cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

Why are Democrats so angry?

President Obama convinced them that the tooth fairy would exist forever. But, that fantasy died with Trump’s election. He’s been erasing Obama’s legacy by restoring America’s prosperity and power. And, because of the recent Janus vs. AFSCME decision, possibly because of Trump-nominated Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, government employees are no longer compelled to pay union dues — a huge source of DNC funding.

Hatred is all they have left.

No sooner did Anthony Kennedy resign from the U.S. Supreme Court, the usual Democrats, in spontaneous, reflexive rage, vowed to block his replacement, whoever it may be.

Chris Matthews, an MSNBC host, proclaimed, “I don’t think the Democrats should allow even meetings to occur for Trump’s nominee to fill this vacancy by Justice Kennedy.”

The DNC’s homepage, Democrats.org, featured this nugget: “A vote for any of the nominees on Trump’s Supreme Court shortlist is a vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and criminalize abortion.”

Last night, President Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh, a judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, to replace Justice Kennedy.

Charles Schumer (D-NY), senate minority leader, immediately snarled: "I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same. The stakes are simply too high for anything less."

The DNC posted a YouTube video with this ominous warning: “Kavanaugh is an extremist who would have the power to overturn Roe v. Wade and gut the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare].”

Nobody with a brain and a basic civics education would believe that Brett Kavanaugh, one man, has such power. So, why are Democrats claiming it?

Answer: The DNC’s target audience has no civics education, doesn’t think for itself, and is, therefore, easily duped and controlled.

To wit: Cabot Phillips, of CampusReform.org, asked a number of New York University students, days before President Trump announced Kavanaugh as his pick, to opine on the fictitious nominee. A typical response: “I saw it all over the news, that he’s, like, racist.”

In “Combating Our Culture of Rage,” I explained that Millennials have been conditioned from childhood to be uninformed and feel perpetually victimized and outraged. Getting them to scream and protest, therefore, is a cinch.

Will this party of perpetual protesting succeed, going forward?

The Democrats have flooded the zone with hatred, and now they’re drowning in it. Hate has morphed into a miasma of self-loathing.

The patina of party loyalty is cracking, evidenced by the #WalkAway movement: an increasing number of young whites, blacks, and Hispanics are now open to voting Republican.

Loyalty is an underpinning of a strong brand. It exists only when constituents feel good about themselves when associating with a company or organization.

The Democrats have violated this axiom, to their detriment. Make America Hate Again is a losing strategy.
