Obamacare to Spell Doom for Boomers

This week's 40th Anniversary of Woodstock — the outdoor festival of peace, love, mud, brain-distorting drugs and a free lunch for all — should be a turning point for baby boomers.

Today we are as many years from Woodstock as 1969's Woodstock festival was from the 1929 stock market crash that began the Great Depression, notes journalist Ron Brownstein.

I suspect that Woodstock marked the fuzzy-brained utopian bottom of an 80-year natural cycle, and we now live at the opposite, realistic, clear-headed peak of this cycle.

We baby boomers have always known that betrayal was coming from the same sorts of liberal Democratic social-engineer politicians as John F. Kennedy, who put the first 16,000 armed troops into Vietnam, and Lyndon Baines Johnson, who drafted a generation of young boomer men into a war against communism they were not permitted to win.

Now we know how the next long-expected betrayal of baby boomers will happen.

Born from the life-affirming passion of the heroes who survived and won World War II, we boomers have always been the “pig in the python,” a huge demographic lump of 84 million souls that distorted every aspect of society through which we passed.

We crowded public schools and colleges, flooded the work force and housing market, and in a few years will glut America's graveyards.

Today boomers stand near the brink of retirement.

Social Security and Medicare have always been Ponzi schemes, funding today's beneficiaries with taxes on tomorrow's retirees. Self-serving lawmakers spent every dollar of tax surplus and left only IOUs to pay for boomer retirement.

Social Security was adjusted to put off this day of reckoning, forcing even the earliest baby boomers like myself to postpone retirement until age 66, an unegalitarian year longer than our parents.

We always knew that boomers would quickly bankrupt these programs if allowed to collect benefits at the same level our parents did.

Politicians therefore have to find ways to renege on Social Security and Medicare promises to us.

Will Congress “means test” these programs, using the investments and savings of millions as a pretext to deny them benefits — all so that government can give their taxes to the profligate and lazy?

Will divide-and-conquer politicians split the baby boom, giving larger benefits to older boomers — experienced at anti-Vietnam War and anti-draft protests — while short-changing late boomers born in the late 1950s and early 1960s?

Obamacare is designed to force boomers into a much cheaper socialized medical system inferior to Medicare, which has not been age-adjusted.

President Barack Obama plans to suck at least $500 billion dollars out of Medicare as boomers retire.

This half-trillion dollars will be diverted to provide free medical care for 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens.

Senior citizens will die prematurely so Democrats can buy support from non-citizens.

Illegals will be fast-tracked to citizenship and to a lifetime as voters, keeping the Democratic Party in perpetual power.

Boomer lives, health, and freedom will again be sacrificed as cannon fodder for greedy ideological politicians.

If America's economy craters, Obamacrats will crank up the printing presses and “monetize the debt,” churning out tens of trillions of dollars unsupported by productivity. This will cause inflation so severe that it will make each hard-earned dollar of boomer life savings nearly worthless.

Perhaps it is in anticipation of this that Democrats pretend to see Nazism in every criticism of Obamacare. They already plan to recreate the hyperinflation of Germany's socialist Weimar Republic, a seedbed of shattered hopes and dreams in which the insanity of National Socialism, i.e., Nazism, took root and metastasized.

In July alone, Obama's social and economic policies increased our national budget deficit by $181 billion. That is equivalent to more than $600 of additional debt owed by every man, woman, and child in America.

If that rate of monthly deficit increase continues, it will in one year add a financial burden of more than $28,900 on every family of four in America.

And it will continue to add this much again, cumulatively, year after year.

So we need not wait for Obama's $13 trillion in new indebtedness to destroy us, nor for more than $80 trillion in long-term “unfunded liabilities” to come due to bankrupt our nation.

Obama and his comrades are far too intellectually fashionable to believe in God, but, oddly, they still believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the religious cult known as Marxism.

These leftists believe that a nation can miraculously tax and spend itself into prosperity, and that taxes can be raised to infinity without any negative consequences.

In their ignorance they believe that they believe in science and nature.

Comprehending nothing of business or the real world, Obamaite leftists persist in their childish belief that the law of supply and demand can be magically repealed by partisan politicians and liberal judges. In reality, it can no more be repealed than gravity.

As the late libertarian saint Robert Heinlein said, “TANSTAAFL: There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.” Somebody has to pay to create food, shelter, and medicine. Obamacrats are scheming to stick baby boomers and our surviving predecessors with the bill and with life-shortening inferior healthcare.

Will Obama retreat from socialized medicine? After Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius this weekend said this was “not the essential element” of Obamacare — that “co-ops” could replace federal dominance and provide the “competition” Obama wants for 1,500 private insurance companies — an unidentified White House official rushed to tell Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic magazine that Sebelius “misspoke.”

Obama health policy propagandist Linda Douglas said “Nothing has changed,” that Obama still believes that health reform needs a “public option.”

This “public option” will let government drive out private insurance and even, through its all-powerful standard-setting political appointees, reestablish the “death panels” temporarily removed to pass this nightmare scheme of lifelong, life-shortening government control over your healthcare.
