President-elect Donald Trump traveled to the White House Thursday to meet face-to-face with President Barack Obama for the first time in what was later described as an "excellent" 90-minute transition meeting.

The two men, who have had quite a bit of bad blood between them in the past, praised each other after the sit-down.

"This was a meeting that was going to last for maybe 10 or 15 minutes, and we were just going to get to know each other," Trump told reporters. "We had never met each other. I have great respect. The meeting lasted for almost an hour and a half, and as far as I'm concerned, it could have gone on for a lot longer."
