President Donald J. Trump’s is sinking into the swamp of the Washington, D.C., establishments of both political parties. Despite his previous best efforts, the snakes and alligators now seem on the verge of totally swallowing up and then devouring his presidency, much less him, his family, and associates personally.
First, there is the Judge Brett Kavanaugh fiasco. Having nominated a jurist who was pushed by the inside Washington Republican establishment and club, and who civil libertarians opposed, based on his past ruling in Klayman v. Obama, a landmark case that enjoined unconstitutional mass surveillance on the American people by the “Deep State”-run FBI and intel agencies, the president is now faced with a “catch 22” over pushing ahead to have Kavanaugh confirmed. On appeal, Kavanaugh issued a ruling which validated the government’s violation of Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches and seizures by spying on the citizenry without probable cause. Now, ironically, Kavanaugh’s rights to due process and the president’s right to pick his next nominee to the Supreme Court are in grave jeopardy.
However specious the allegation of attempted rape by Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh’s nomination is about to go down should she finally appear to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee this Thursday. And, why is that?! The answer is simple! Establishment Senate Republicans do not have the guts to take on and stand up to the runaway “Me Too Movement,” and yes the “old white men” in Congress will head for the hills in droves once “the truth,” as the Democrat-left will argue, is spewed under “oath” in real time on national and international television in orchestrated fashion by Ford.
Heading for the hills has become a way of life for the president’s so called supporters in his own party. Most had opposed his election, only to conveniently “come to Jesus” when they had no choice but to accept the reality that The Donald had become, thanks to We the People, our 45th chief executive. Now that they see him on the ropes with Kavanaugh, be prepared for them to exit stage left “en masse.”
Second, there is the more serious matter of our so called Justice Department, which under the failed “leadership” of Jeff Sessions and his Obama holdover Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has epitomized and has become the largest and most dangerous reptilian in the swamp itself. Just last Friday, it was revealed by The New York Times that Rosenstein had proposed to others in the department, such as the now disgraced and fired Acting Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, that he be wired to audio record the president and then use the recordings to lobby and persuade Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet to wage what in effect would be a “coup d’etat” to remove Trump under the 25th Amendment, for mental instability.
Rosenstein, one will recall, given Sessions’ cowardly recusal, has been rubber stamping all that Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his hand-picked leftist prosecutors want in their on-going “witch hunt,” as the president has rightly put it. Not to mention Rosenstein’s having signed and approved, on multiple occasions, FISA warrants which triggered illegal spying on Trump, his presidential campaign, and transition based on the now discredited Hillary Clinton and Democrat paid for phony Steele Dossier — triggering the “witch hunt” of Mueller — we have now learned of this apparent Brutus-like attempt to stab the president in the back. Yet despite this apparent act of sedition — revealed by a publication that would politically and ideologically like to keep Rosenstein as number two at the Justice Department to do Mueller’s bidding — establishment Republicans and no less than Fox News’ Sean Hannity, unfortunately one of the president’s close confidantes, have strongly urged him not to fire Rosenstein. Firing, at an absolute minimum, is the least that should befall this apparent “Benedict Arnold,” as it is more than a risk to keep him in charge. Freedom Watch’s citizens grand juries will now have to seek his indictment and prosecution for this alleged heinous act, as it is clear, that as usual, the swamp will otherwise protect its own.
Incredibly, in the face of all of this, President Trump has now, at Rosenstein’s urging, walked back his declassification this week of the documents concerning the illegal Steele Dossier FISA warrants. Assigning the task to the in-house Inspector General of the Justice Department to take its “good ol’ time” to declassify, on the not convincing claim that two foreign governments object to the documents full release to the public — how do foreign governments know what is in the documents? — the president has inexplicably rolled over to Rosenstein and his Deep State at Justice! One now has to ask what does Rosenstein have on the president to have him back off in this way? Is Trump now so fearful of the power of the Deep State — not without reason given all that has unfolded to date — that he too has been neutered, as the rest of the establishment Republican herd?
Finally, where are the president’s lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow in all of this — also not coincidentally card-carrying members of the Republican establishment’s “resort” club in our nation’s capital? No need to guess again, they are nowhere to be found as President Trump is being dragged head first into the fatal waters of the swamp, threatening to swallow up his presidency much less nullify the vote of we Americans who put him in the Oval Office.
While the public interest group which I founded Judicial Watch’s answer to all of this is to seek more documents and to beg with the government to act, Freedom Watch, which I now head, must go on the attack with real and forceful legal actions, such as our citizens grand juries, to bring about justice and drain the swamp which President Trump promised to drain, but now has apparently, through bad advice, coercion, and even possibly blackmail, succumbed to dragged into.
