Are Energy Deals with Chinese Oligarchs Key in Biden Probes?

Are Energy Deals with Chinese Oligarchs Key in Biden Probes?

There should be little wonder why the U.S. House impeachment inquiry hearings are directing special attention to purported nefarious relationships between Hunter Biden and Chinese Communist energy oligarchs and surrogates.

The latest among numerous evidentiary disclosures was revealed through recent congressional testimony provided by former Hunter business partner Jason Galanis who is serving a 14-year sentence at a federal prison in Montgomery, Alabama.

The crime?

Defrauding a native American South Dakota Indian tribe of $60 million and other crimes.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Galanis sought to use the tribe’s pension bonds to advance a "roll up" strategy that involved buying up financial firms to merge them into a larger one called Burnham Financial Group.

Politico author Ben Schreckinger notes in his 2021 book, "The Bidens," that Hunter and Devon Archer, another of his former associates, knew Galanis "had fallen afoul with securities regulators before partnering with them."

Nevertheless, when investors raised concerns about Galanis’ checkered past, Archer reassured them by pointing to Hunter’s involvement in the business.

Whereas according to court testimony, Hunter’s name was reportedly used as a selling point in the fraudulent bond scheme and the vice president’s son had an office at the New York headquarters of an asset-managing company that was supposed to be part of the roll-up, he was never charged along with Galanis and Archer.

Archer had also served with Hunter as a board member of corrupt Ukrainian gas producer Burisma Holdings Ltd. in which former Vice President Biden threatened to withhold a billion U.S. dollars unless the Viktor Shokin, the government prosecutor who was investigating the company, was fired.

As noted by researcher and author Michael Shellenberger, recent testimony obtained from Jasan Galanis matches what he previously told congressional investigators in 2014 regarding dangerous national security compromising Biden family business relationships with China.

Referring to CEFC, an energy company where a Hunter email documents a 10 percent cut for the "big guy" [Joe Biden], Galanis had then said, "I agreed with Hunter and Devon that the Burnham & Company would be enhanced by forming a partnership" with a "$300 billion Chinese financial services company closely connected to the Chinese Communist Party [CCP]."

Refuting repeated denials that Joe Biden ever discussed his son’s business dealings, as reported in the New York Post, Joe Biden left a recorded 2018 voice message to Hunter apparently expressing relief regarding "being clear" of any connection to his self-identified partner CEFC's chairman Ye Jianming’s arrest in China for economic crimes.

The Daily Mail reported that Hunter had accidentally recorded himself bragging that same year about his relationship with one of Ye’s top lieutenants, Patrick Ho, who was convicted in New York of bribing African officials to help Iran avoid oil sanctions.

While holed up in a hotel room filming amateur sex tapes, Hunter told his female "companion": "I have another New York Times reporter calling about my representation of the, literally, Dr. Patrick Ho — the f***ing spy chief of China who started the company that my partner [Jianming], who is worth $323 billion, founded and is now missing."

Bank records secured by the House Oversight Committee show that on March 1, 2017 — less than two months after Joe Biden left office as Barack Obama’s vice president — State Energy HK Limited — a company affiliated with CEFCtransferred over $1.3 million to Hunter, James Biden, Hallie Biden, an unknown Biden, and their companies through family associate Rob Walker.

On July 30, 2017, Hunter had sent a threatening WhatsApp text message to Henry Zhao, the CEO of a Beijing-based asset management company and CCP member connected with the family of the former Chinese Minister of Security stating: "I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.

"Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight."

A September 2020 Republican Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee report documented that over $5 million was sent just days later from CEFC Infrastructure Investment to two Hunter related firms — $100,000 to his Owasco law office, and $5 million to Hudson West III, a firm that Hunter Biden had purportedly established with Chinese associates.

Recent Galanis testimony that "The entire value-add of Hunter Biden to our business was his family name and his access to his father" also validates a sworn statement by Devon Archer that Hunter put his vice president father on speakerphone during business meetings with investors in China, Mexico, and Kazakhstan more than 20 times to sell "the [Biden] brand."

It's impossible to ignore a perverse paradox that the Biden commitments to shut down American oil and gas valves when growing evidence reveals family deals to cash in on conflicting Chinese and Ukrainian fossil energy enterprises.

Congressional investigators therefore have very good reasons to wonder why internationally drug and hooker compromised no-experience Hunter kept showing up in lucrative family partnerships with corrupt foreign oil and gas companies such as CEFC and Burisma as meanwhile China continues to build the equivalence of about two new coal plants weekly while purchasing U.S. sanctioned oil from Russia and Iran to finance assaults on Ukraine.

In any case, we can safely bet that none of this has anything whatsoever to do with saving the planet from millions of years of climate change.
