Although highly questionable Biden family dealings in China have received less media attention than those in Ukraine, they potentially deserve more scrutiny due to Beijing’s importance as a U.S. economic and military adversary, direct links to high level communist party and military officials, and the enormous financial magnitude of many murky transactions.

Serious national security extortion risks posed by some of these and other foreign business relationships are documented in a recent 87-page GOP-led Senate and Government Affairs and Senate Finance Committee investigation previously covered in my Oct. 19 column.

Investigative reporter and author of the 2018 book "Secret Empires" Peter Schweizer has detailed ways revealed by emails in his possession that Hunter Biden’s business associates helped to secure meetings between Chinese tycoons and high-level Obama-era White House officials in 2011.

Some of these emails which were freely obtained from former Hunter Biden business partner Bevan Cooney were first published in a Breitbart report.

All are separate from another huge tranche obtained by the New York Post.

Cooney is currently in prison serving a sentence for his role in a 2016 scheme to defraud an American Indian tribe. Another close Hunter Biden business partner, Devon Archer, was convicted in the same 2016 case and currently awaits sentencing.

In 2014, the two also joined with Hunter as board members of Burisma Holdings.

The Oct. 14 Post exposé depicted then-Vice President Biden’s oft-troubled son introducing him to an executive of that Ukrainian gas company which was under government corruption charges at the time.

Schweizer told Fox News that emails in his possession show "a wide net of using the Biden name, using access to the White House," with "Hunter serving as the pipeline to the administration as means to help their clients and gain clients."

"The names that come up in this are the Chinese, the Russians, the Ukrainians, the Kazakhs," Schweizer added. "It’s a veritable United Nations of corruption. And what it demonstrates is that Joe Biden, as vice president of the United States, was a center point."

The Post reported that in 2009, Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry, founded Rosemont Seneca Partners, a private equity firm.

Cooney emails show that in November 2011, Hunter, Cooney and fellow Rosemont Seneca partner Archer facilitated White House meetings for a group of Chinese business and political elites from the exclusive China Entrepreneur Club (CEC).

According to a CEC website document, then-Vice President Joe Biden attended at least one of those meetings. An email suggested that Archer had coordinated with Hunter in setting up White House meetings for the group.

A Nov. 5, 2011 email provided by Cooney from Mohamed A. Khashoggi, apparently an intermediary for CEC, wrote, "A tour of the white house and a meeting with a member of the chief of staff’s office and John Kerry would be great."

Khashoggi added, "If we can set up meetings with Rominy [sic] or nonelected officials might be easier," also noting, "Not sure if one has to be registered to do this"

This question was logically in reference to necessary registration under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The CEC has been referred to as the "billionaires club" comprised of China’s top business leaders, economists and diplomats. Khashoggi wrote of the club, "This is China Inc."

"I think it is a soft diplomacy play that could be very effective," Khashoggi continued, adding that it would give Hunter Biden’s business partners "good access to [the Chinese] for any deal in the future."

The Post reported that in December 2013, while "still at the helm of the firm," Hunter accompanied his father on an official visit to China aboard Air Force Two where the vice president also met with his son’s Chinese partners.

Such a report again flies in the face of repeated claims by Joe Biden that he knew nothing of Hunter’s foreign business dealings because he "trusted his son."

According to Peter Schweitzer, 10 days following the trip Hunter’s company inked a deal with the state-owned Bank of China which created a $1 billion investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR).

As reported in a July 2019 article in The New Yorker, "Will Hunter Biden Jeopardize His Father’s Campaign?," a BHR representative said that during the trip Hunter had introduced his dad to Jonathan Li, a Chinese equity executive who later became BHR’s CEO.

Hunter stepped down from BHR’s board in October 2019 following blistering call outs from President Trump.

Also, as I previously wrote, the Post published an Oct. 15 article detailing alleged emails between Hunter Biden and his associates regarding another venture involving a since-defunct Shanghai-based China Energy Company (CEFC).

One of those emails dated May 13, 2017 titled "Expectations" listed a prospective position for Hunter as "Chair/Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC."

Proposed terms included equity breakdowns for "H" [presumably Hunter], his associates, and a share to be held by Hunter Biden for "the big guy."

If true, Biden family prospects crashed in 2018 after U.S. authorities accused CEFC and its associates of bribing high-level African officials.

The company declared bankruptcy earlier this year.

According to a 2018 New York Times report which was cited in the Post, Hunter had met in May 2017 with CEFC chairman and Chinese tycoon Ye Jianming in a Miami hotel room where the pair discussed American infrastructure and energy deals.

After the meeting, Ye reportedly sent Hunter a 2.8-carat diamond and a "thank you" note.

Hunter then began negotiating a deal for CEFC to invest $40 million dollars in a natural gas project on Louisiana’s Monkey Island.

The same New York Times article reported that when a CEFC executive was arrested in New York on unrelated bribery charges six months later, his first call was to Hunter Biden’s uncle, James Biden.

According to the Times report, James believed the call was intended for Hunter.

Congressional Republicans are now formally calling on the FBI to reveal what and when they had learned about these and other Biden family foreign controversies.

Now, just two weeks before the election, the American public urgently needs to know the full story as well.
