Sen. Paul Is Right About Left's COVID Narratives

The following article has been authored by a non-clinician.

Similar to how his father, former Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, predicted the tyranny of an intrusive federal government back in 2012, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has been proven correct in nearly all metrics during his ongoing battles with Dr. Anthony Fauci and those attempting to bolster what may deemed misleading COVID-19 narratives.

Both father and son have had intense battles at the committee level.

We've even recently been witness to Fauci, the current director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, become appreciably flustered when Rand Paul questioned his authority, if not his integrity.

Paul, a physician himself, grilled the virologist (Fauci) on multiple occasions, accusing him and the National Institutes of Health of providing funding for gain-of-function research to communist China, lying to the American public about masking, and labeling fellow health experts as "fringe" if they questioned the government-approved narratives on COVID-19.

This begs a question: Why is Fauci propped up as a virtual deity and all-knowing power when it comes to our current pandemic?

If science is ever-changing, why are those questioning its current status condemned as though they've blasphemed?

It may be argued that Paul has ended up being correct about nearly every accusation he has hurled at Fauci, but this was not the only time Paul has nailed things down during the past few months during hearings on Capitol Hill.

This past August, Paul's YouTube channel was suspended because the senator made a video doubting the efficacy of over-the-counter (especially cloth) masks.

In the video, Paul observed, "Most of the masks you get over the counter don't work. They don't prevent infection. Trying to shape human behavior isn't the same as following the actual science, which tells us that cloth masks don't work."

Paul eventually issued a New Year's resolution, declaring that he will stay away from YouTube and its authoritarian lockstep with a government now controlled by Democrats.

Instead, he said he will now post all of his videos through the conservative alternate social media network Rumble.

Paul ended up being correct on the mask issue very recently, as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) changed its recommendations to: that cloth masks are inefficient and ineffective when trying to protect oneself against COVID-19.

It's ultimately very concerning when voices, like Paul's, continue to be mocked, silenced, and criticized just because they speak up, doubting the federal government's pandemic responses.

It could even be argued that Paul has been made a martyr by the left's continued disinformation campaign. As a senator, doctor, and human being, he has been, by some, regarded as an ominous threat to democracy.

Such feelings are emergent on the part of progressives when he questions the authoritarian left's orthodoxy.

When it comes to what routinely emanates form the mouths of bureaucrats, Americans must unite in seeking the real and whole truth.

No one should "freak out" when a competent, elected representative is merely doing their job, and doing it well.
