Conservatives Need to Rebel Against Wokeism

The United States was founded on the idea of rebellion. Our country's founding fathers broke away from the British monarchy's rule to build the greatest nation ever to grace the planet, and it was not because they found shortcuts around liberty or caved to governmental rule.

Their entire philosophy based itself on giving the citizens their freedom to individual expression through speech, possession of arms, and the right to worship however they please.

This country's backbone was not to praise authority nor cave when the opposition challenged their principles, but instead took solace in the Judeo-Christian values that they held dear.

Many citizens in our country have let our Judeo-Christian values be tossed aside in favor of succumbing to the virtue-signaling nature of today's progressive movement. We have thrown away important figures and thinkers for the sake of cancel culture. We continue to fall victim to the idea that conservatives are somehow guilty whenever a tragedy happens -such as the Boulder, Colorado or Atlanta, Georgia shooting during late March—because of our support for the second amendment.

Republicans, Democrats, and even judges in our justice system have forgotten what the Second Amendment is actually for – fighting against tyranny and self-defense.

Meanewhile, the left has continued to use tragedy, whether through Critical Race Theory-based activism or standing on the graves of those killed by a crazed gunman, to help push their Woke agenda. Progressives have fought to keep masks and mandate restrictions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, even when vaccine distribution steadily decreases the amounts of cases across the country.

Woke activists continue to target citizens of all types, whether they be celebrities such as Gina Carano, influential authors such as Dr. Seuss, or the everyday man like Colorado baker Jack Phillips. It does not seem like the culture war that conservatives are fighting is ending anytime soon.

In fact, it seems the country is at the point of ideological civil war as Democrats push through egregious legislation. Free speech, gun rights, and civil discourse are being attacked day by day without any end in sight.

So, what is the solution?

The right needs to stand firm at the federal and state levels and prevent radical legislation. Those not in government need to peacefully stand up for their values.

Conservatives, libertarians, moderate Republicans, and even moderate Democrats cannot stand aside and let the progressive left take over American culture.

In short, they need to "rebel" against Wokeism by rejecting the ideology Democrats are trying to foist upon us. They need start putting forth solutions to our nation’s problems based on our founding principles.

All conservatives have to do to stop the left is to start is be energetically active – organize, communicate, register voters, and more legal remedies.

Progressives make fools of themselves on their own, so conservatives need to stop caving on ideological fights they can win.

Republicans like Adam Kinzinger of Illinois need to stop voting to relinquish our Second Amendment Rights by surrendering on a useless background check policy.

And conservatives can also use the Democrats tactics against them. For example, if Democrats will expel Republican representatives like Marjorie Taylor-Greene, the House GOP needs to dismiss anti-Semites such as Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar. Conservative columnists need to stop tearing the right apart and fight for unity instead of using every opportunity to disparage their own.

For once, the conservative movement needs to stop infighting. It’s time to come together around sound ideology to prevent what is quickly becoming the most authoritarian and dangerous political movement in modern American history from transforming our country.

If conservatives want to succeed, they will fight the ideological battle that this country needs to see – through individual conversations, debate, winning the ballot box, and standing strong against radical legislation at all levels. If they do that, they win the cultural war, along with elections. Then comes time for their own legislative agenda to craft a vision of the United States based on conservative ideals. But, the first act in this rebellion, so to speak, is to just say "no" to Wokeism.
