The Newsom Problem

It’s a perfect day to fly California state flags at half-mast for lost liberty. America’s backwards national trendsetter, and my home the last 24 years, has spoken.

By a roughly 63.9% to 36.1% majority (*with 70% voting in at the time of this column), Californians support more vaccine mandates, free market business repression, and individual liberty infringements.

“Rules for me and not for thee” elites are, once again, accepted as our new normal.

Gavin Newsom raised $80,000,000 from local entertainment and eco-socialists. Newsom desperately called in mentally crisp Joe “Jimmy Carter” Biden fresh off his Afghanistan “victory lap.”

Newsom said, “We said yes to ending this pandemic.” Yet, we know it’s far from over.

Our voters emboldened the Machiavellian King Gavin. He, and he alone, knows what’s best for us. We simple folks can’t be trusted with too much freedom.

Let’s see how King Gavin’s loyal liberal subjects feel when California’s eviction moratorium ends and individuals and business people are crushed with $5.2 billion in back rent. Or when our 170,000 homeless numbers expand as more Californians suffer from prior shutdowns.

Or when Los Angeles homicides increase beyond its 31% 2020 rise, including up to 50% increases in certain crime categories. Or at tax time when Gavin seizes everything in sight, then redistributes as he and his pork fat, social justice, plutocratic lobbyist, juggernaut entourage sees fit.

Gavin successfully spread fear. Many Newsom supporters are over-emotional, dreamy, often well-tanned, socialist-tolerant sheep.

There is little resistance amongst this well wooled ilk. And why should there be, for those who worship “The State”?

California is a nanny state still high on PPP, EDD, and THC. Little excitement exists for leaving beaches and couches to return to work.

A true majority of Californians love and trust big government.

Our populace obediently watches gobs of leftist news and social media propaganda. It’s a spectator sport here.

With a $3.2 trillion GDP, California falls between Germany and the United Kingdom as the world's fifth largest economy. Californians are wealthy enough to do whatever we want even if it’s self-sacrificing and stupid.

Self-harm and stupidity is paying 12% to soon 16.4% in state taxes on top of our 7.75% sale tax, as California collapses.

Californians love the utopian ideal that one day government will get it right.

California loves fantasy; it’s who we are. That’s why our Hollywood is the global epicenter of creating fantasy.

As things crumble in reality, Hollywood writes directs, acts, edits and scores their own fictional alternative reality daily. Suspension of reality is California’s greatest export.

California just publicly clung to big government forced equality of the masses, calling it “care.” California is run by a pluralist group of elites who know that they know, better than all other 49 states, (beside its socialistic sister and Draconian darling New York of course.)

Many of us Jeffersonians who remain in California understand that “The Republican is the only form of government which is not eternally at open or secret war with the rights of mankind.”

There is no need to use any Gavin-esque smile or charm when all the cards are openly on the table. Yet, that’s not the path of our Californian elites and their ongoing more-obfuscated agenda to fundamentally transform America.

Yet our unhappy populace lost a recall election because emboldened leftists played the race card and the “Orange man bad” card, yet again.

It was not an easy proposition in these times.

The often charismatic and likeable Ronald Reagan turned California red in the more affable '80s. Larry Elder has boldly ripped the heads off stupid locals since 1993; as result he is loved by many and hated by more. It was just a fact.

Our demographics also remained intrinsically daunting. California registered Democrats increased to a solid 44.8% in the year preceding the last gubernatorial election.

Republicans only comprise 24.1%, down from 25.9%. Independents (including “decline to state” and “no party preference”) comprise 23.3%.

During the 2003 recall of Gov. Gray Davis, Republicans were 35.2% of the electorate. Independents were 15.3%. Democrats had 44.4%.

Trump caught elites off guard. Elder is great, but he’s not Trump.

Times change.

In the People’s Republic of California, our establishment elites saw this coming this time.

Californians recently voted for universal basic income for orphans and pregnant women, defunding police, and releasing criminals from jail in the name of equity. Assembly Bill 5 (AB5) makes subcontractors full-time employees, crushing businesses with bloated outsourcing costs.

Newsom’s exacerbating the homelessness crisis resulted in a surge of typhus. Statewide rent control laws reduced the supply of quality housing and increased housing prices. Fentanyl deaths increased by 350% due to open borders and bad laws like Proposition 47. The inanity stretches for miles.

Yet anyone questioning the recall is denigrated as if nothing happened in 2020. It’s highly unlikely our pending mail-in votes to recall Newsom will be counted with the same attention as 2020 mail-in ballots benefitting Biden.

It remains an uncomfortable new reality when media calls races so early. Fox and ABC called the election with only 58% of votes reported. Yet, reams of reamaining mail-in ballots have until the 21st to be counted.

It is a sad state that in the background many still do not trust our elections. Even Tuesday night, on CNN 351,000 “Yes” votes disappeared in an instant during live coverage of the Newsom Recall Election in California.

It remains an unsolved issue and one not to be determined on the federal level. Just as in 2020 our exact recall numbers seem they too, may never be properly known.

Here in California behind it all, our greatest issue is our pre-existing hard leftist Foucault-like social capital contracts where people feel a pressure to conform to wokeness, or face getting cancelled or lose freedom for thinking a certain way.

Many have become programmed forgetful robots – and that in essence is … the Newsom problem.

For now, we will watch on as more Leftist failure creates enough crises to force an eventual change in our California political winds. Or, we can surrender and move.

If only we didn’t live in such an amazing climate, with such great people and so many fun and culturally stimulating things to do, I would. Welcome to California.
