The cold, dim light of this waiting room was familiar to Tamesha. She sat alone, but surrounded by feelings of pain, doubt, apprehension and fear. She told herself that she had no other choice after being evicted from her home. Upon entering the examination room, the doctor immediately put her concerns to rest by offering what seemed to be a way out, the same ''logical'' consultation she had heard on four prior occasions. He asserted that this baby in her womb would not only be an inconvenience, but that it would destroy her life.
Abortion carries in its eight letters the stories of millions whose lives have become entangled in its treacherous web. Since Roe v. Wade, 62 million babies have been aborted in America — and counting. Abortion should be nothing to celebrate. Were it a procedure destroying cancerous tissue, then absolutely we could all celebrate. But, abortion necessarily implicates a second person, whose life is violently eliminated when it is sucked into a tube with 10-20x more force than a vacuum cleaner, or when its limbs are torn apart, or when it is starved of blood and nourishment.
No issue is more polarizing, but Democrats and the Biden administration have made it clear that there is no room for compromise on their abortion agenda. How was it possible for the Democratic Party to embrace abortion full stop when even a majority of its own base opposes late-term abortion? Into the ring steps the Left. The abortion industry, modern-feminist organizations, public sector unions, human rights coalitions, higher education and mainstream media form a bulwark against even the slightest hint of dissent.
These forces of culture have tremendous influence which they use to label pro-life groups as racist and radical. To accomplish the goal of broad mainstream support, the prevention of facts related to the procedure's actual outcome is a prerequisite. This occurs by using a messaging sleight-of-hand, removing the baby from the messaging, and labeling their opponents as ''anti-abortion'' rather than ''pro-life.'' The dominant forces of culture would have us believe that, besides a few rogue rebels, their messaging has locked younger generations into their pro-abortion matrix.
Contrary to this notion, new data shows the Red Pill of life gaining momentum among millennials and Gen Z. With the advancement of modern science, more people are coming to recognize the inherent human nature of the baby in the womb. Technology now makes it possible to expose the dark nature of the abortion procedure, and the simple act of watching a baby brutally torn apart instantaneously changes minds. As noted by pro-life activist Ashley McGuire, ''When you're seeing a baby sucking its thumb at 18 weeks, smiling, clapping,'' it becomes ''harder to square the idea that that 20-week-old, unborn baby or fetus, is discardable.'' People who convert from pro-choice to pro-life cross a major threshold. To unlock the inalienable promises of liberty and the pursuit of happiness, life must first be considered inalienable.
After Tamesha was persuaded to pay the $1,000 down payment for her abortion, which she could hardly afford, she walked outside only to be greeted by a sidewalk counselor named Peter. He offered her help, financial and consultative assistance, and even to adopt her baby. Angrily, she rejected Peter's presence and walked in haste to her aunt's car to avoid being seen by others.
But, Peter noticed a hesitation as she sat and reflected, he then ran to the car and begged for one minute of her time. Tamesha was moved deeply when she saw the tears in his eyes and then invited his assistance. One week later, rather than getting an appointment at the abortion clinic, she got an appointment for an ultrasound.
Tamesha not only decided to give life, but also to raise her baby boy. This decision changed her life. Tamesha completed her GED, found assistance through the local pro-life network to get housing, and is now studying to earn a technical degree at a community college. Her perspective on life has changed 180 degrees, and she, like Peter, is now saving babies by encouraging mothers to consider the innocent person in their womb, who is deserving of life. It is incredible how one life, if not destroyed in abortion, can impact so many others, including in Tamesha's case, her own.
Tamesha's story is proof positive that nobody has a fixed destiny. From despair and destitution to peace and prosperity, Tamesha walked a road that she now travels with others from similar situations. Perhaps more than any other issue, a Red Pill Awakening from abortion to life has the power to transform perspective.
Throughout the months that follow, this blog will present the left-of-center perspective on hot-button issues such as abortion, economics, foreign affairs, free speech, religious freedom and more followed by a ''Red Pill'' rebuttal.
