We have learned, that there is little if any interest from the political establishment to have a Biden-Trump Debate.
It’s why a populist type of debate; one very different and never been seen before, is needed during which local reporters from each of the 50 states are the inquisitors, asking the tough questions that the American people rightfully want answered.
The way to have Biden agree to this tactic is for the Trump campaign to get Biden out of the basement to debate the President by enlisting the help of the "silent majority," and all those who seek the truth from political leaders.
The way to accomplish is this is through six YouTube ads with the following themes:
Ad 1 — Manufacturing
The Trump campaign needs to put out an advertisement showcasing a manufacturing worker from Pennsylvania who got his job back under Trump and have that worker ask Biden: "Why did you vote for the trade bill that moved manufacturing jobs out of the United States to China and other countries?" That worker needs to demand that Biden get out of his basement, debate the president in all 50 states so the American people know where Joe Biden stands beyond sound bites written by his advisers.
Ad 2 — Gold Star Mother
The Trump campaign needs to put out another ad of a Gold Star mother who lost their son in Iraq and have her ask Biden why he voted for the Iraq war. That mother needs to demand that Biden resurface, debate Trump in all 50 states, so the American people know where the former vice president stands exactly on foreign affairs. This is especially ncessary so we don't create any more Gold Star mothers.
Ad 3 — Mother of Current Prisoner
The Trump campaign needs to put out a commercial of a mother with an adult son and ask Biden why her son was in jail for 20 years for selling pot, because of his (1994) Crime Bill. That mother needs to demand that Biden debate Trump (nationwide) so that she and everyone else get to thoroughly know where Biden stands on crime, beyond the sound bites; beyond his stance on the 1994 Crime Bill.
Ad 4 — Flynn Ad
The Trump campaign needs to put out a commercial with General Flynn in front of ABC News asking George Stephanopoulos a follow-up to his question to Biden about going after Gen. Michael Flynn. Gen. Flynn should ask Stephanopoulos to ask Biden if he (Stephanopoulos) came up with their applying the Logan Act? Flynn needs to demand that Biden leave his bunker, debate Trump state by state, so that Americans can clearly assess Biden's role (if any) in the "Russia hoax," as President Trump has called it.
Ad 5 — A Mother of a Child Who Was Murdered
The Trump campaign needs to put out a commercial with a mother of a murdered child in Atlanta and have that mother ask Biden why he wants to defund the police. That mother should say that Black and Hispanic mothers need the police to protect their children. She also needs to demand that Biden get out of the basement and debate Trump in all 50 states, so the American people know where Biden fully stands on law enforcement.
Ad 6 — COVID-19 Ad
The Trump campaign needs to put out a commercial with a nurse who treated COVID patients, asking Biden why he allowed during his 40 years in government all medical and drug manufacturing to be shipped overseas to China? The nurse who watched people die because of lack of personal protective equipment (PPE), when the virus first started, needs to demand that Biden debate Trump, so the American people know just what Biden is all about on the coronavirus pandemic.
Team Biden is running a campaign that is currently strong in the polls, but it can be crushed with just the right moves by Trump.
Currently, the campaign is all about Trump. That's not always a positive thing.
Trump's campaign must make it about both men and why Trump, when all is said and done, is the better alternative. For more on this critically important debate concept, please see my prior column of June, 29, 2020.
If the Trump 2020 campaign utilizes these six advertising tactics, and gets voters to demand that Biden debate Trump, it will be clear to both insiders and outsiders, that it's always easier when you have branding and marketing in mind.
