Politicians' Arrogance Costs Us in Countless Ways

With an arrogant sense of self-righteousness, our politicians restrict the freedoms of our law abiding citizens while pandering to their campaign contributions; freedoms we enjoy that have been secured only after countless bloody and historical struggles.

Hiding behind their fanatical devotion to their political party, these same politicians craft laws that turn a blind eye to those who victimize our citizens and threaten our "Safety and Happiness" and "Blessings of Liberty;" the very governmental responsibilities to safeguard as laid out in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States.

In "Reported Crime May be Falling, But Is Lawlessness Increasing?" for The Hill, I recount the politicians pledge in various jurisdictions in the country not to prosecute petty crime prompting the Washington D.C. Police Chief to write these actions serve to "terrorize" the law abiding citizens “who are calling out to the government for help," the government populated by the very politicians who are ignoring the citizens who dutifully follow the laws.

The governor of New York in his quest for "the most progressive agenda this state has ever seen, period" is working hard to accomplish that goal.

But, he is doing this at the expense of the New York citizens.

The "Green Light Law" with the resulting restrictions on federal access to the Department of Motor Vehicles records has actually eliminated the ability of law abiding resident’s participation in the Trusted Traveler and Global Entry programs.

NYPD ignored a federal request to turnover an illegal immigrant arrested for assaulting his father. Within two months he was arrested for the sexual assault and murder of a 92 year old citizen in Queens, NY.

Are politicians sacrificing the safety and happiness of their law abiding citizens for their "most progressive agenda?"

The State of Virginia is imposing multiple laws restricting access to firearms by the law abiding citizens. Doing little to secure the safety and happiness of the general population from criminals in possession of illegal firearms, politicians neglect spending as much time, effort and money addressing the threat posed by criminals access to firearms as they do infringing on the blessings of liberty by restricting access to firearms by the law abiding citizen.

Pat Droney writing for Law Enforcement Today recounts the story of Gustavo Garcia who had a criminal record back to 2002, been previously deported, ordered deported three times and was released by Tulare county by under California’s sanctuary laws — ignoring an ICE request to keep him in custody. Garcia killed Rocky Jones at a gas station, shot two more people, robbed a gas station and was killed in high speed chase resulting in an accident.

Droney also reports of a woman murdered by an illegal immigrant after the mayor of Oakland, California leaked information of pending U.S. Immigration raids.

The victim’s mother declared, "I feel that [the mayor] has no concern for the citizens that are already here, who have been born and raised here for generations."

Live Science reports at least two studies contain evidence that the coronavirus devastating China and spreading around the world may also spread through human feces. But a survey of downtown San Francisco by NBC found over 300 piles of human feces spread over 96 blocks since the explosion of the illegally squatting homeless population. NBC further reported medical experts reflect that as " . . . fecal matter dries it can become airborne, releasing potentially dangerous viruses . . ." The airborne fecal matter can be inhaled and indiscriminately infect law abiding citizens, " . . . especially children."

Newsweek reported a confrontation between a father and then-presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., in Iowa.

The voter explained that he had worked two jobs, saved money and paid for his daughter’s college education while others squandered their savings and relied on student loans.

Then he asked if he was going to get any money back under Warren’s plan to forgive student loans. Laughing she responded "Of course not." He summed up the current politicians' attitude toward the law abiding and responsible citizens with "We did the right thing and we got scr***d."

In March, Joe Biden was confronted by a union laborer over second amendment rights. When told he works for the laborer, Biden’s Freudian slip response confirmed the professional politician’s arrogance when he retorted, "I don’t work for you."

We, the law abiding, get “scr***d” by the politicians, who believe they "don’t work" for us, with their progressive agenda assaulting the blessings of liberty for our safety and happinees — with no concern for the citizens.
