From White House to state capitols, there was widespread acclaim from Republicans Tuesday night for Attorney General William P. Barr’s five-hours plus testimony before the House Judiciary Committee.

Administration sources privately confirm President Donald Trump still believes Barr is doing “a fantastic job” as the nation’s top law enforcement official.

By all accounts, the attorney general is one of the “Big Three” of cabinet officials who are closest to the president. The other are Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin.

Barr also earned high marks from Republican state attorneys general for his relentless defense of the administration’s decision to send federal law enforcement officers into cities such as Portland, Oregon to stem the tide of lawlessness.

“Attorney General Barr has been a strong advocate of the rule of law,” West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey told Newsmax, “I’ve been pleased to partner with him on so many law enforcement issues.  He understands that we can’t defund the police and must speak out against the riots and mayhem in our country.”

Morrisey’s comments were echoed by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, who told us: “Attorney General Barr demonstrated to Americans why we must protect and invest in our men and women in blue to ensure the safety of our communities and shut down the dangerous policies pushed by those who hate America.”

Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who last year became one of two Republican attorneys general who are black, said Barr’s testimony “demonstrates his commitment as the nation’s top law enforcement officer, to upholding the rule of law.”

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry hailed Barr for maintaining his calm demeanor as House Democrats repeatedly interrupted him with the argument they were “reclaiming my time.”

“General Barr, like our law enforcement officers battling anarchists in the streets, should be applauded for his civility and restraint in the face of an angry mob,” said Landry, “These Joe Biden voters have no interest in discourse just destruction.”

The Pelican State attorney general went on to say that Tuesday’s hearing will be remembered because “the Democrat Congress showed us how out of touch they are with hard-working, law-abiding Americans and how in tune they are with the lawless liberals rioting in our streets. They torched the credibility of the House of Representatives like their militant wing is torching federal buildings."
