Obama Not Interested in Immigration Reform

Barack Obama navigates the scandals of his presidency with the greatest of ease, like the man on the flying trapeze, only he uses campaign rhetoric and hype.

Meanwhile, on the legislative scene, his energy has been spent on Obamacare, leaving little left for Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR). Just like, “You can keep your doctor if you want to,” his repeated promises to the Hispanic population have no basis in fact.

With 2013 coming to a close, the president has yet to deliver “comprehensive” immigration reform. From 2009 to 2011, when Democrats had complete control of the Congress — with Democrat majorities in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives — no CIR came of it. Yet the Hispanic bloc of legal and illegal immigrants remains not only loyal to the president but keen on adulation.

When one scandal after another threatened the president’s 2012 re-election, he orchestrated a flood of bureaucratic regulations and rules that by-passed Congress, which by then had a new Republican majority in the House. Thus, Obama set out to achieve “pathways to citizenship” for undocumented aliens via “prosecutorial discretion” and “deferred action childhood arrivals” — measures that sidestepped existing federal laws and the U.S. Constitution.

In the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, Obama rode to victory on the coattails of black and Hispanic voters. Although some poll watchers turned a blind eye to unregistered voters, it was Middle-America’s disdain for both major party candidates that explains why 4 million-plus white, working, registered voters failed to show up at the polls.

By mid-November 2013, the Obama administration, which scans national polls and takes its own daily polls, realized that growing numbers of U.S. citizen-voters are upset. They are alarmed by the mushrooming price they are being asked to pay for Obamacare. They are upset by the ever-rising welfare-entitlement costs for undocumented aliens, for anchor babies, and for other young illegals.

Facing bad press for the first time, the Obama team has retreated to campaign mode. The president is increasing his national fundraising and speech making in an effort to salvage dropping poll numbers caused by one embarrassing Obamacare failure after another.

Aggravating the situation are stubborn underemployment and unemployment numbers, new reports of billions of dollars wasted on inept “green” projects, and a downward spiral of Middle-America’s earnings, a spiral with the president’s fingerprints on it.

The impact on the American psyche of undocumented workers demanding their “rights” is escalating, as underemployed and unemployed rates for all workers sits at 17.5 percent.

Interlocked with Obama’s open-borders immigration stance and his pet-project, Obamacare, are new skyrocketing welfare entitlements for multigenerational welfare families — both U.S. citizens and noncitizens.

As a microcosmic example, consider that for the past 70 years, one Florida county has seen its demographics change. A population of 13,000 has multiplied to an estimated population of 386,147 people. With such a growth-spurt, local demographics have changed. From a seasonal resort area, the county has evolved into a poorly managed but politically correct city.

Politically correct because city and county politicians have created an entitlement mecca of gigantic proportions complete with fiscal mismanagement and user abuse. An essential part of the local “comprehensive” entitlement policy is federally-funded low-income housing.
