Are Joe Biden and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-California, the official presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the Democrat Party, anti-Catholic?
Let's look at the record.
Joe Biden during his 39 years as the U.S. Senator from Delaware (1973-2009) and eight years as Vice President of the United States (2009-2017) went as the wind blew. During these years, Biden played his "Catholic" card whenever personally or politically expedient.
Now, Biden supports taxpayer-funded abortions on demand.
He wants the Little Sisters of the Poor to be forced to pay for contraception in their employee health plan. The Sisters were founded to serve the elderly dying poor.
The Sisters won a religious freedom case in the U.S. Supreme Court on July 8, 2020 against the Obamacare contraceptive mandate. The decision upheld Trump administration's rule exempting conscientious objectors from the Obamacare mandate.
Biden and Harris were not happy with this Supreme Court decision. Biden called the Court's decision, "disappointing."
Biden stated he would repeal the Hyde Amendment and the Helms Amendment which prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions.
Biden has stated as a priority for his first 100 days as president, passage of the "Equality Act" and "Do No Harm Act."
These Acts would destroy religious protections for hospital and religious protections for faithful Catholic organizations and individuals as well as, penalize religious believers' businesses for refusing to faciliatate same-sex weddings or having seperate facilities for biological males and biological females.
Biden supports tax-payer funded abortions. He has been quoted as saying his first act as president, will be to restore funding for Planned Parenthood.
Harris's career is less-well known.
Kamala Devi Harris is the junior U.S. Senator from California. Her mother was born in India and her father was born in Jamaica. She graduated from Howard University, a historically Black university in Washington, D.C., and from the University of California School of Law and admitted to California Bar in 1990.
Harris was a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County from 1990 to 2004. From 2004 to 2011 she was district attorney for San Francisco. She served as attorney general of California from 2011 until elected to the Senate in 2017.
However, the totality of her legislative service demonstrates a secular hard-left political posturing and effort. Harris co-sponsored a radical pro-abortion bill, "Women's Health Protection Act." The bill would invalidate nearly all state and federal abortion limitations and facilitate unrestricted abortions, if passed.
Harris is an ardent supporter of abortion at any stage. According to Catholic League President Bill Donohue, Harris has tainted herself "with the brush of anti-Catholicism." Harris is, a "not-so-closeted," bigot and combines her bigotry with a long list of radical left legislative efforts.
GovTrack rated Senator Harris the most liberal U.S. Senator in 2019, surpassing socialist Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, and ultra-left Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts.
Former Speaker of the U.S. House Newt Gingrich posted that,"U.S. Senator Kamala Harris is the most openly anti-Catholic bigot to be on a national ticket in modern times." (Free Republic, 8/16/20)
Gingrich observed that Harris was eerily mirroring U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's bigoted questioning of now -U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett during her confirmation hearings in 2017.
Biden and Harris do not support the values of people of faith, be they Catholics or people of other faiths. This political-duo is the 21st Century version of the "Know Nothing" movement. The Know-Nothings were vehemently anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant. The Know-Nothing movement was very short-lived 19th century bigotry.
Today, the 2020 Democrat Party itself, is a rebirth of the Know-Nothing Party, only with a socialist/nihilist hue and imbued with a street-brawler mindset. It is not the Democratic party of President John F. Kennedy.
Harris together with her compatriot, Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, castigated and pilloried Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh at his confirmation hearing.
Kavanaugh was then a U.S. Court of Appeals Judge. He is a Catholic.
Sen. Harris's questioning of Kavanaugh bordered on malpractice, as she implied matters that were false while trying to trap the nominee into perjury.
Left-leaning Politifact rated Harris's attack on Kavanaugh as "false." Harris's efforts to attack Kavanaugh were so brazen that they earned criticism from two California newspapers, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Los Angeles Times.
Sens. Harris and Hirono attempted — unartfully and unsuccessfully — to stop the nomination of Brian Buescher of Nebraska to be a U.S. District Judge because he was a Catholic. Their anti-Catholic questioning of Buescher was farcical and an embarrassment to the Senate.
Ken Blackwell, former U.S Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission, called the behavior of Harris and Hirono "thuggish."(Breibart, 9/2/20)
Terry Schilling, executive director at American Principles, wrote that the Biden and Harris duo is, "..the most anti-Catholic slate in recent American history..."
