Todd Young - Biography


Todd Young serves as Executive Director for Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), an Atlanta-based national constitutional public interest law firm founded in 1976. He has served with the Foundation since 1994, directing policy, litigation, and media relations programs. In 2003, he was named one of Georgia's "16 to Watch: On the Rise Under 40" in the Daily Report, the state's daily legal newspaper. In his role at SLF, he has worked closely in an advisory capacity with former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III, former Independent Counsel Judge Kenneth Starr, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and various members of Congress and state governors and attorneys general. During his tenure, SLF has won landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court on issues ranging from free speech and property rights to rolling back Executive agency overreach and the constitutional conduct of the national census. Todd helped author the landmark unemployment insurance study stimulating more than $1.75 billion in tax cuts in five SE states. Listed since 1998 in The Heritage Foundation's Guide to Public Policy Experts, he is published regularly in national newspapers and magazines and appears on television news and radio programs. He received a B.A. in English from Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina, and a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law.
