Luis Fleischman - Biography

Luis Fleischman has worked for more than two decades on issues related to the Middle East, U.S. national security, Latin America, foreign policy, and international affairs.

Fleischman worked for a number of organizations that deal with issues related to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and in general the Middle East. He has also worked as adviser for the Menges Hemispheric Security Project at the Center for Security Policy on issues related to Latin America, hemispheric security, democracy, and U.S policy in Latin America. He is also the co-editor of the internet publication “The Americas Report.”

He is the author of Latin America in the Post-Chavez Era: The Threat to U.S. Security” (Potomac Books Inc, 2013).

Fleischman is an adjunct professor of sociology and political science at Florida Atlantic University Honors College and FAU Lifelong Learning Society.

He has published journalistic and academic articles and on a variety of topics. His articles have been reproduced in a number of websites and publications particularly in the United States and Latin America.

Fleischman is a frequent guest of TV and radio programs, and has written opinion pieces in newspapers in English and Spanish. Luis Fleischman holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. degree in sociology from the New School for Social Research in New York, and has a B.A. degree in political science and labor studies from Tel Aviv University.

He lives in Jupiter Florida with his wife Laura, also a sociologist. He has two grown children, Maia and Julian.
