Pat Boone - Biography
Pat Boone's public career spans a half-century, during which he has been a top-selling recording artist, the star of a hit television series, a movie star, a Broadway headliner, and a best-selling author.
The great-great-grandson of the legendary pioneer Daniel Boone, he had planned to be a teacher — even graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University, where he enrolled while holding down a new job as a regular on the Arthur Godfrey television show.
Pat and his wife, Shirley, have four children and 15 grandchildren. Personal friends have included legendary Hollywood luminaries, and Boone was a friend and early political supporter of Ronald Reagan.
He has been national chairman of the Easter Seal Society, and he is the National spokesman of the 60 Plus Association.
During the classic rock 'n' roll era of the 1950s, he sold more records than any artist except one: Elvis Presley.
