Friday, 31 December 2010 11:43 AM EST

Richard Viguerie, the legendary Republican strategist who is now chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, is bullish on the conservative movement for next year. “Expect the conservative and tea party momentum that shook the political scene of 2010 to continue with even more intensity in 2011,” he writes on Politico.

Richard, Viguerie, conservative, predictionsViguerie makes the following predictions for next year.

“1. The continued political activism of grassroots conservatives and the tea party will lead to a conservative takeover of the Republican Party.

“2. More elected officials who hope to keep their seats will swing toward the right out of fear of the power of the tea party movement.

“3. President Obama’s popularity will continue to decline to record lows due to his failed policies and ineffective leadership.

“4. Gallup and other polls will find a further increase in the number of Americans that self-identify as conservatives, while the number of Americans that self-identify as liberals will decrease.

“5. The number one issue in America will be a push for massive spending cuts and major cuts to the deficit.”
