FRC Action has announced that GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will speak at the Washington Briefing 2007: Values Voter Summit on Saturday morning Oct. 20.
The former New York City mayor becomes the eighth presidential hopeful to commit to address the largest gathering of pro-family activists in the nation's capital. The Democratic candidates have so far declined but were offered time on an equal basis.
On Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ET, FRC Action President Tony Perkins will hold a Q&A conference call for members of the media and will offer a preview of the values voter straw poll in which thousands are expected to participate.
This is the first pulse-taking of values voter activists now that the field is complete. Press credential information will also be discussed.
In addition to the GOP presidential candidates, the speaker lineup includes Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, Chuck Colson, Gary Bauer, Bishop Harry Jackson, Alan Sears, Mark Levin, Roger Hedgecock, Rich Lowry, Paul Weyrich, Dr. Richard Land, John Fund, Ed Meese, Ben Stein, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Reps. Marsha Blackburn and Jean Schmidt, Star Parker,
Phyllis Schlafly, Sen. Rick Santorum, Michael Steele, Father Frank Pavone, Bill Bennett, and Judge Robert Bork.
The Washington Briefing 2007: Values Voter Summit is cosponsored by American Values, Focus on the Family Action, the Alliance Defense Fund, and the High Impact Leadership Coalition. The Briefing will be held Oct. 19-21 at the Hilton Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C. A presidential straw poll, an exhibit hall, a radio row, multiple book signings, bloggers' row, and much more will be packed into this three-day conference. Saturday evening Dr. James Dobson will be honored at a gala dinner where he will receive FRC's inaugural Vision and Leadership Award.
