S. Carolina Poll: Thompson Leads

Republican Fred Thompson holds a slim lead in the latest presidential poll in South Carolina.

In the Winthrop/ETV Poll released Thursday, Thompson is the favorite of 17.9 percent of likely Republican primary voters. He's followed by:

  • Rudy Giuliani, 16.5%.

  • Mitt Romney, 16.5%.

  • John McCain, 9.2%.

  • Mike Huckabee, 5.4%.

  • Undecided, 29.9%.

    Among Democrats, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton leads with 33.7 percent. She's followed by:

  • Barack Obama, 22.7%.

  • John Edwards, 9.6%.

  • Undecided, 29.6%.
